Our volunteer community consists of people of all ages.  We invite you to get involved!  Meet new people, learn new things, and experience the heart and soul of Pike Place Market.  Volunteer as an individual or as a group.

 

  

Downtown Food Bank
  
   Holiday Food Drive
   Host a holiday food drive for the Downtown Food
   Bank.  All non-perishable foods are welcome.  Holiday
   foods such as canned pumpkin and instant mashed
   potatoes are especially needed. 
 
   Thank you for partnering with us in our effort to make
   sure no one goes hungry this holiday season.
 
 
   Grocery Rescue Driver
   Various times throughout the week.  Pick up donated
   groceries from local grocery stores for distribution
   at the food bank.  Must have a Washington State
   Drivers License, be able to lift 25 lbs, and have good
   customer service skills.

   Errands for a Senior

   1 or 2  volunteers needed to aid seniors with errands.

  

   Transportation to The Sharehouse

   Tuesday or Thursday between 8:30am-1pm.

   Volunteers needed to provide transportation to senior

   Market residents for a visit to The Sharehouse

   (www.sharehouse.org) to pick out furniture.  

 

   Appointments are scheduled at least once a week

   in advance.  Would not involve furniture pick up.

 

 

    

 

 

PMSC Meal Program

   Breakfast Prep*
   Weekly commitment.  Volunteer shifts are
   approximately 2 ½ hours and could begin as early
   as 7am for breakfast prep.
 
 
   Lunch Prep*

   Weekly commitment.  Lunch shifts generally start

   at 10am and are over by 1pm.  

 

   *Cooking experience is not required and volunteers

   will be trained and supervised by the Meal Program

   Manager and Lead Cook.

  

   Food safety is a priority in our kitchen and all

   volunteers will be required to take a food safety class

   and receive a food handlers permit.
